I have a 1985 Johnson 115 HP . Just Bought it last year replaced the impeller and plugs ran it about 10 times no problems . Last couple times out at the end of the season here it became hard to start and fouled plugs ,winterized and changed gear oil . I'm wanting to order parts now for spring rebuilds . Going to rebuild Carbs wondering what else I should I rebuild or replace . Thinking fuel pump and maybe adding a in line fuel filter it only has a screen . Have new plugs and wires . Thanks for any advice.

Re: Recommended Rebuilds

What fuel pump do you have?

Carburetor rebuild with rebuild kits is a good idea, along with replacing the fuel lines.

Full sized water separating fuel filters are just about a necessity wherever ethanol is used.

Annual de-carbon treatment and afterwards a test of the recirculation check valves are a good idea.

The BRP maintenance chart might suggest other areas of concern: http://www.evinrude.com/NR/rdonlyre...55-6BC1C69789FB/0/em_maintenance_schedule.pdf
