impleeler lube

I understand it is important, when replacing the water pump (impeller), to smear a bit of a special lubricant on the blades, and wall of the cavity.

Please tell me what the lubricant is and where to get it.

I've a Honda 15.

Vaseline works fine.... a very light smear on the wall where the impellar sits.

I agree..but keep in mind, from the time the grease wears off it will continue to be lubed by water. Really important to never let 'em run dry....me...I use a little Yamaha marine grease, the blue stuff.....
