On the first day of ownership the PO sold to me...
A runabout in good condition.

On the second day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the Third day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the forth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the fifth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the sixth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
a radio that doesnt work,
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the Seventh day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Lights that don't shine,
a radio that doesnt work,
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the eight day of ownership the PO sold to me...
water in the bilge,
Lights that don't shine,
a radio that doesnt work,
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the nineth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
a soft spot in my deck,
water in the bilge,
Lights that don't shine,
a radio that doesnt work,
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the Tenth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Rotten stringers,
A soft spot in my deck,
water in the bilge,
Lights that don't shine,
a radio that doesnt work,
Five siezed CYLINDER Rings
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the Eleventh day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Flexing in the transom,
Rotten stringers,
A soft spot in my deck,
water in the bilge,
Lights that don't shine,
A radio that doesnt work,
Five SEIZED CYLINDER RINGS!!!!
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in good condition.

On the Twelveth day of ownership the PO sold to me...
Broken trailer lights,
Flexing in the transom,
Rotten stringers,
A soft spot in my deck,
water in the bilge,
Lights that don't shine,
A radio that doesnt work,
Five SEIZED CYLINDER RINGS!!!!
Cracking vynil seats,
Wet carpeting,
Oxidized and missing Gelcoat,
And a runabout in NOT SO GOOD CONDITION!!!!

By the way, Can somebody tell me an easy way to fix the soft spot in my deck?

you really need to do a little more inspection before your boat purchases ;)

That makes for a good 12-point checklist though :D

As for the soft spot. I looked at a boat a couple of months back, the owner said it had a couple of issues. When I got there I noticed on the casting deck that he had taken 2X4's and screwed them under the deck with deck screws. There is a quick fix for ya!!!

Mine had a piece of 3/4" ply screwed over it and covered with carpet.

That was one of my struggles. There was actually way more than 12 days of restoration needed.
