Can anyone point me to a diagram or picture series that details how to reassemble the trim pump out of a 1976 OMC 190 (Ford 302) Stringer drive?

My pump motor was bad. I pulled the bad motor but but could not get the replacement motor's shaft to engage the drive gear in the pump. When I broke the pump down two BB sized steel balls, one smaller (than a BB) sized steel ball, and a tiny spring fell out of the pump.

I have the Seloc Manual, but it does not have a diagram of the pump. I've looked back through the iboat threads, but have not found anything.

Your help is appreciated.

Re: OMC Stringer Trim Pump diagram

Partial success. I was unable to find a diagram so I put it back together placing the two BB sized balls in the valve slots on either side of the drive gear. I placed the spring in the hole at 6 oclock and put the small ball on top of the spring.

After putting it all back in and testing (I fit the motor shaft to the drive gear with a little filing). The unit will raise, but not lower. Guess I put the spring and small ball in the wrong order.

Next I'll try it with the small ball in first and the spring on top.
