Volvo SX hinge pins

Are the hinge pins on a Volvo SX the same size as on a Merc Alpha? I read an earlier post about a chap using a 1/2in allen wrench with great success and wonder if I could do the same when I go to change my U-joint bellows before spring. I've been looking for the 12 point hex bit with no success. Thanx in advance.

Here is what it says in the OEM service manual.

If you want a tool that fits the 12 points, then the Mercruiser tool works perfectly.

Thanx Don. 1/2 inch hex wrench it is.. Now I just have to look at all the previous posts for the "for and against" of using bellows adhesive. Think that topic ranked up there with wet vs dry storage, types of oil to use etc etc..Thanx again..

Do what you want with the adhesive, The Volvo manuals doen't say anything about using it when installing the bellows. Neither does the newest service bulletins.

Beware there's alot of locktite on the volvos.
