I started the motor in idle but realized I did not close the safety switch. I slipped the key on the safety switch and I could not forward or reverse the boat. I turned the engine off and now there is no juice to the starter!!! During the commotion
and befor I turned the motor off, I reved up the motor on high idle while the motor was trimmed out of the water:redface:
Can some one help with troubleshooting, please?
RESOLVED:
After a day of investigating with my buddy, we found a broken piece inside the throttle clutch. This is the metal part that moves between the 2 rack like plates when pushing the idle button to idle the motor when pushing the throttle. I guess I broke the part when I was trying to engage the forward or reverse clutch!!! I will post the part # when I buy it from the dealer.
