I'm trying to remove my 2007 Mercury 50hp elpto to work on my transom. I've gotten the wiring disconnected, but i'm not sure what i need to do to remove the throttle, shift and steering cables. Please help.
Disconnect the hockey stick (it is attached with a nut or split pin). Then unscrew the tilt tube nut, it is the big nut with the zirk nipple in it. The steering cable will now pull out of the tilt tube.
