I was thinking of installing a tach on my merc 25. I can buy a tach with a the harness, but I really just want a simple setup just so I can watch my RPM's sometimes. I ran across this website for a product called "tiny tach". Says wrap end of the wire around the spark plug wire and ground the other wire. Thats how their tach works, alot like a timing gun. Also has a hour meter. I was wondering if that would be something worth looking into? $39 vs. $60 or $70 also. Anyone have any thoughts on this or has anyone here ever used one?

Re: Tachometer Question

They work just fine. Go for it. They have an internal battery that I think is rated to last five years and as I remember, it is not replacable.
