SS160 and Kicker Motor?

Hi. I have a 1990 SS-160 with a 60 hp Merc, and I would like to use it on a lake with a 10 hp restriction. Has anybody added a 10 hp kicker to an SS-160? Any tips? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is a swim platform on the port side....

Ha! I had the same situation. So what I did was I used that same steering rod I linked to earlier, and drilled a hole in the AV plate on each motor and connected them up. That will work fine for your purposes. It would just be a pain to connect them up out on the water. If you do it at home you'll be fine.

Nope. Sold the boat. I'm currently redoing my "new" 18' and will be taking the opportunity to move the swim platform to the other side. :)
