I have an 87 evinrude which is running great at idle and in gear up to about 2500-3000 rpm the engine cuts out but does not stall starts choking like it needs fuel. I push in the choke on the ignition key before i get to stall point and the boat will run full throttle sounding great . I had carbs rebuilt w/ new kits and have new fuel tank with new fuel separator, new lines. I had new thermostats put in. new control box. I am running out of ideas and cash LOL. my mechanic is baffled and I am clueless. It is a 140 VRO looper w/ the oil injection unit removed. (was reccomended by mechanic saying that if the oil pump goes on these engines it will seize engine better to mix oil) If anyone can help me it will make my life alot easier(wife riding me big time breaking my stones about the lemon engine bought) Thank you for any input and for having such a great informative web site.
