Upgrading to Trim Tabs and new prop. What size?

Hi all,

I have a 1989 Donzi Ragazza 23 cuddy cabin. It has a 350 OMC 5.7 and cobra outdrive. The boat is in really good condition and I have taken real good care of her.

I have decided to install trim tabs for next seazon for a better "hole shot" and change the prop size for increased speed.

I'm set on the Bennett M120 trim tab system. Currently I have a 4 blade 17 pitch prop. I am thinking about switching to 21 pitch or 23 pitch 4 blade when I install the tabs. What are your suggestions? which prop (21 or 23) will be best for my application?

thanks,

Luke

Usually it is recommended to change one thing at a time.
I think I would do the tabs and then select a prop based on the performance.
We will need to know the max rpm and speed with a typical load and tabs
in order to have a base line to work from.
