had an issue one the lake engin would not stop over reaving when started. And I mean over reaving. Like you were taking off in neutral. Took to dealer found 1 screw missing on trottle plate for carb. #1. Other screws were loose. Replaced missing screw and tighten rest. Looked in reeds and front of carb. cannot find the missing screw. Dealers said might have gone out the exhaust. What are the chances it could go through the motor and exhaust when this happened? Only way to find screw to take engin apart? Don't know how big screw was and how close fitting engins are. what to do????? hELP????

IMO, not much you can do now. Damage, if any, is done.

You could do a compression check to be sure there isn't a badly scored piston or broken ring. The screw is pretty small, and brass, so odds are pretty good it didn't hurt much.

good luck

Have not driven since this happened. What to look for while we drive incase screw is still in engin?
