I have what I think is an '88 85 horsepower oil injected two stroke motor. Haven't seen any mention of an 85 horse existing for that year so it may be an 80 horse. is three cylinder two stroke. belonged to my now deceased father in law. Need to move the boat, it is on its trailer, but the motor is sitting in the dirt. turns over, but the power trim doesn't work. makes clicking noise. have tried to lift by myself physicaly, but there seems to be some kind of lock stopping me. Motor moves a couple of degrees but then stops dead as if something is in the way. i lift entire stern up. would like to get motor to trim so that I can restore. Is there an easy hydrolic fix, or a way to free the motor for trailering? Just want to move the boat to a place that i can work on it. Would prefer not to remove motor. It all ran and worked two years ago.
