the motor was stalling out at high speeds and it just kept getting worse and worse till it was hard to idle. I put new plugs in it and rebuilt the carb. I still have the problem, it got a little better after the rebuild though. any suggestions?
First check the filter, remove the screw where it is written filter on the pump and check it. Check your lines to make sure they are in good condition and there is no crap in them. Shop2.evinrude.com will show you the exploded view of the pump, there is an early and late production fuel pump. If the pump is bad there are kits to rebuild them, they are a pain to rebuild or you could just replace it.
I have the Evinrude version. I rebuilt my pump without much luck. Bought a new one and am running strong again. Check price on iboats. much better than most.
