I have an '80 Sailor 250 (9.9). I believe I have most everything in good running order except getting the carb/timing linkage set.
It looks like I have 3 areas of adjustment. The remote cable come in on the right and attaches to the timing arm. There is a good size long screw here controlling the throw of the timing arm toward the idle position. There is a hard stop in the advance.
The throttle is controlled by an arm riding on an eccentric on the timing plate.This arm rotates and turns adjusts the throttle plate. The arm bracket is adjustment #2. Then there is a screw that opens/closed the bracket that actually pulls the throttle plate for #3.
How do I get these adjusted properly? I could buy the book, but I'm really wanting to get this motor running to sell.
