Re: Repowering question.

there is a couple of ways

you can measure your old eng. from the bottom of the eng to the top of the lower unit

you can post your current eng model #s and we can look it up for you

or you can take your model #s and look here http://www.skoterskroten.com/img/arsmodellstabell.pdf

hope this helps

Re: Repowering question.

The measurement is taken from the transom bracket to the antiventilation plate. 15" = short shaft, 20" = long shaft, 25" = extra long shaft.

Re: Repowering question.

Well finding out what I have is one thing.
Being that the boat is a deep V I think the engine I have now will have a shaft that is too long because once I move it over it will be deeper in the water and will cause a lot of spray and drag.

So the question really is, how do I find out what the boat requiers for a dual setup VS a single setup.

Re: Repowering question.

That boat takes 25" motors in either single or twin installations

You are right, you do not need as much length when you move them to the side, but the lew length will be less than 5" difference, so you compensate by mounting the engines higher on the transom.
