Does anyone have a recommendation on a good repair manual that covers a 1997 25 hp merc? I have the factory manual but it does not have much info other than good parts lists and some descriptions of electrical systems.

I have seen Solec and Clymer online....

Get the Factory Service Manual part # 826883R03. It covers 20-25 and Jet models. I think you have the owners guide. There is also a owners manual but the one you want is the "Service Manual".

If you order from Merc, the SM is 74.95 and will be the most current revision, (3).

I've bought and used both Seloc and Clymer. Neither of them come close to what you get in the SM.

On anything newer than a 1989 or so, the only manual worth buying at any price is the factory manual. Pre 89 Seloc's are actually pretty good for most things, but the Clymer's are just JUNK.
