How do you go about making a good wrap on a 2x4. I keep getting air bubles and have to grind it out and start over.

What kind of fiberglass are you using? From my experience CSM especially the thicket stuff is a LOT harder to form to any sort of 90 degree angle. If you really don't want to round the edges of the 2x4 then I would suggest the use of some thinner woven. I have found that even the thick woven is easier to conform to curves than CSM.

Also get yourself a good laminating roller if your using woven. Roll out the bubbles as the resin is kicking, and keep rolling, and keep rolling.

Mat conforms better than other types of glass to odd shapes and on a radius, but it can't be a sharp corner. Either sand a larger radius, or use a router to create a softer edge to glass over.
