1968 Evinrude 9.5 running on one cylinder

just bought this motor and it was running great.went out fishing and botttomed out alittle motor popped up and then i dropped a cylinder. it runs at low speed on one?were do i start ,dont want to make another problem while trying to find this one.

Start with a compression test and spark test. Report your results back here.

Coils on these are prone to failure the jaring may have damaged a coil.
Pull the flywheel take a look at the coils.If discolored or cracked replace.
You also could look to see if a plug wire has popped loose or been pinched some how.Check for plug wires rubbing.

First do a plug inspection and a spark test. Could be as simple as a fouled plug. Heck, I just replaced both of mine for under $5. Thought the motor was running fine, but didn't know the age of the plugs. Motor runs noticeably better.

top cylinder out both have spark havnt tested compression yet thanks Doug can one cylinder not get gas theres only one feed?
