I am trying to hook up a duel battery system on my boat. I have a 1987 70 hp evinrude outboard. I have a battery selector switch and it says to hook a wire to the alternator but I don't have a wire diagram for this engine, any help would be appreciated. the battery selector is an attwood #14230

Outboards dont have the power to charge 2 batts.
Just use a set of cables from the batt to the switch and then keep it charged at home. Then if you need it, its there for you.
