Ok, so my 23 month old Sony Bravia lcd tv, has developed a dead row of pixels.

Can anything be done with this?

What is the likely cause?

Cost of repairs?

Only had a one year warranty.

Bought a $579 26" set back in 1988 that is still working fine. !

try softly rubbing it with a soft damp cloth....

you might also try hooking the PC to it and running pixel buddy

If the LCD panel needs replacing, depending on size can be anywhere from $500-$1500 just for the panel + labor. Typically it ends up being more than the TV is worth and more than the TV was when you bought it. I have had a 26" Sony LCD Panel replaced before on a 2.5 yr old unit that I have in my bedroom, but that was done through the service plan I bought with it......and it was one of the only times I have seen it be cost effective to replace the panel. Even if you had a plan with the TV they more than likely wouldn't fix it, but you could have at least gotten its worth in store credit to buy a brand new set...........

You have stuck pixels. Tap your finger on the pixels. Start with the first pixel in the row and work your way across. Start softly and increase the force gradually. You may get lucky. Only use the pad of your finger. Do not tap with any kind of tool.
