We?re heading down to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel the week before Christmas to jig Striped Bass by boat. The fish average maybe 7-15 lbs. but fish in 25-30 lbs. range are fairly common. Fish running 45-60 lbs. are not common but there is certainly a possibility that you might tangle with one so you have to be ready.

The method we use is what is referred to locally as Light Tackle Jigging. The bait of choice is a 6-10? lg. "Bass Assassin" type bait stick fished on 1.5 and 2.0 oz. jig heads depending on hard the tide is running. Most fishing is done either by casting to schools of breaking fish or dropping baits down to suspended fish. Blind casting around the bridge pilings and on top of the rock covered tunnel portion of the bridge can also be very productive as well.

I have two combos specifically for fishing ?LTJ? that I?ve divulge that later, but I?m interested in what combo, or combos, you would take to tackle the situation.
