Hey everyone.Bought 1985 175 from pa-in-law on a 20 ft Vision Bass boat.
After getting it home to Florida from Georgia I was prepping boat to take out when I noticed motor would slowly fall from tilt and there was oil leaking from Trim Motor mating gasket. Took it to Marine mechanic and after several weeks and several attempts to stop leaks he informed me that external leak was fixed but the motor would still slowly fall from full tilt. He replaced let down valve(?) but no success. He then tells me that it is an internal leak and can not be repaired. Tries to sell me another Tilt/Trim unit but I balk and take Boat home, which brings me here.
Are these units unrepairable internally?
Seems to me to be nothing more than a Hydraulic Valve body.
