Heat and cold cause metals, plastics, and circuit boards (most materials for that matter) to expand and contract. Electrical components can be very sensitive to heat if they are on the edge. Heat increases resistance,...

blah, blah, blah...

There are any number of correct answers. Do yourself a favor and do like windsors03cobra suggested...

Send it to a qualified dealer, or drivability specialist.

You will save yourself time, aggrevation, and probably money the way you've been throwing parts at it. With a Tech2, breakout box, and other diagnostic equipment they will fix your problem.

What most people don't realize when you send your car to a professional that "charges way too much", you are not only paying them for the time spent on your car today but for all of the years of knowledge they have built up to be able to diagnose and repair your car correctly. Without guessing and throwing parts at it.

If it is a crank sensor, the readings from the breakout box & a snapshot from the Tech2 will point to that. If it's a MAF sensor or MAP, the readings from the breakout box & a snapshot from the Tech2 will point to that.

I wonder if the Obd1 codes have been read. If not my question is why not?

this is why I suspect a grounding issue or some termination issue...

I have a 88 GM truck that would do something like this but when cold...it would start fine but anything over 1/4 pedal and it would do all kinds of weird things....shut off or missfire and pop and bang in the pipes like spark was going all over or the timing was changing a bunch...it just flat wouldnt go...

after it got warm it would but still cut out on full throttle passes...

ended up being a ground on the thermostat housing...the hole corroded and was losing ground..I moved the ground to another hole not in the thermostat cover and the problem was gone...grounds are VERY important in these cars...

ALSO another issue with these cars is the connection at the ECM...have some one wiggle the wires when it is doing its thing and see if it isnt an issue...

I worked on a 90 Suburban once that one of the Injectors ont eh throttle body would quit working when warm...I finally found the issue was a bad connection on the plug for the ECM...I took it off and twisted it all the way around and plugged it back in that way there was tension on the plug...still working to this day....

Try this again you drive it and stalls out ...then it starts up right away or not...starts up right away but only running on three injectors ...spark but no fuel or what ...Try and spell out exactly what happens

I just don't understand why the problem only happens after the car warms up!!! Im about to blow my brains out!!!!!!!! I have to let the car cool overnight or at least 4-5 hours before it will run normally again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not all that complicated of a car. From the info you have given I'm betting you have a bad ecm. Have also seen crank sensor's do exactly what your describing MANY times. Forget about unplugging 3 injectors and it will run. Not sure why your doing that. As sila 67 said it would be $$$ well spent to have a professional auto technican look at it when it won't run. If they know what their doing they will charge you an hour's labor for diagnosis, $60 to $100 depending on where you are. TRUST ME, I know what I'm talking about, I have been a ASE certified tech for 30 years. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT:):):)

Not sure if that will fix the issue, but you can try blowing your brains out and we'll let you know if it fixes the problem (via ouija board, of course). If it doesn't, what poor sucker would you like us to give the car to? ;)

Have you measured your fuel pressure yet? Measure it and pinch off the regulator and see what happens. Measure it and pull the fuse for a bank of injectors and see what happens. Compare the specs to factory.
You also need a scan tool. Not just a code reader but one that displays live data. You may have a sensor that is out but has not failed completely.

I bought the computer for the car. The PROM fit right in to the new computer and I have not yet installed it to the car. There is a warning about there being a 20 db or less reading on the silinoids or something like that. Are the silinoids the same thing as the sensors? I dont want to fry out the new computer with a bad connection. I did take the car to a chevy dealer and he told me that all the equpment that he has It still will not tell him if the computer is bad! He replaced the map sensor again and traced the grounds and the equipment that he had said that it was a map sensor again. He tested the grounds and told me that all the equipment that is in the world will not tell him that the ecu is bad. I have not had a chance to replace it yet I got really busy with other things! What you guys think?

I think you are doing exactly what I warned you not to do from the beginning. And when after all this, it turns out to be the fuel pump, you're going to be mighty pissed. I did all this SAME SH!T to my '88 Ciera, including replacing the computer. Didn't do a thing. It wasn't till the car finally died altogether that we figured out what the problem was and by then I had another car and junked it. Never again will I fool around with drivability problems. The mechanic gets 1 (possibly 2) tries to diagnose and fix it and if that does not succeed, cut your losses. As far as I know the parts store will not let you return the computer if that turns out to not be the problem.

I replaced the fuel pump ezmobee. I replaced the wire harness and the screen inside the tank as well. I had the sending unit checked out and its all good. My wife is in the hospital since tuesday night for an ulcer so I have not had time to put the new computer in. It says on the computer to check relays/solenoids for propper resistance values. Less than 20 OHMS will distroy the unit and the prom. I hear that the prom for this car is verry hard to find. How do I test the resistance? And what are the solenoids they are talking about? I asume the sensors that I have replaced? THANKS

Solenoid's and sensor's are NOT the same. These are all the various thing's
on the engine that are connected to the computer. Sensor's generally send info to the computer and solenoid's are operated or controlled by the computer. This is a warranty thing, if something is shorted and blows a circuit in the computer they won't warranty it. FORGET ABOUT IT! Just plug it in and see what happen's.:D You have already spent a lot of $$$ throwing part's at this thing, what's another few bucks.???
