Hi all. Hope I'm in the right forum.
I have a 1997 Aquasport CC with a 1997 Johnson 50hp Outboard.

I took her out recently and brought her home to spend a few days on the driveway before going back out the following weekend.

Using the manual lever to unlock the motor, I lowered it to the down position for storage.

The following weekend, I could not raise the motor. The lever moves up/down (lock/unlock) but when I try to lift the motor, it doesn't budge.

Upon inspection I found two things:

1. The cable attached to the lever which then going down to what I assume is the piston, was ruptured. So when I would pull the lever up/down, the actual cable would pop through like a hernia.

2. The lever itself cracked. After trying it 3 or 4 times without knowing it was cracked, it actually snapped off in my hand.

Now I have a trailer boat with a motor in the down position, locked, and I can't raise it to move it and have it repaired.

Anyone know a way to do so?

Again, this is a manual tilt. A simple lever with a cable which appears to lock/unlock a piston.

Thanks!
