oil leak on 4 hp

Hi all I'm new here so go easy on me .. I just bought a 4 HP EVINRUDE deluxe model # E4rdhcud . It leaks oily water out of two little holes on both sides of the upper part of the gear box . do i have a seal gone or what ... thank you Leigh

If it is black, gungy thin oil and smells burnt or of gasoline that's just partly burnt oil from the fuel and is normal.

If its a thick oil and smells like gear oil then you probably have a seal gone. Check your gearcase oil for signs of water ingress

Clear the holes so that it drains properly.

1987 model by the way. You should be using 50:1 fuel mix despite what any decals or the owners manual says about 100:1
