I used to have a business in the late 80's, a failed startup to distribute computerized igntion systems. I am thinking about reviving it and renaming it to Coils 'R Us.

I know coils give it up sometimes, but, I mean, Dang.....:cool:

Hey...there's a post up in the I/O section where replacing a coil fixed a bad starter.

Those pesky coils!!! :)

How about the one that fixed a clunk that stopped the engine while cranking, coils are absolutely evil I agree!

Hijack alert!! Hijack alert!!! Well sorta . . .

I was going to start a thread recently about Coil over plug uhhhh . . . Coils. I have a had a bad one on my Expedition (warranty), two bad ones on my son's GTI and 2 bad ones on a friend's BMW 328. They are danged easy to troubleshoot and replace, but seems like I am getting my share of these. I was thinking of starting a business called If Your Modern Engine Misses, Call Me

Anybody else seeing a rash of these things on newer cars? Never replaced a plug on any of 'em, just coils. Maybe they are evil . . .

I have known of some friend's Ford trucks that are in the shop every 6 months or so for one or more of them. I have never had one go out, I have non-Fords but so far no coil-over-plug probs.
