Hello everyone! I am new around here and have a question about my motor.
I have an old (not sure of the year) 18 hp Evinrude outboard motor. I foobarred and strip the threads out of the cylinder head. I have repaired it with one of those re-thread and insert the sleeve deals. it seems to be working just fine, but I would like to find out if there is anywhere to buy one whether it is used or new. Any help with anything regarding this motor would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone in advance for any help.

Need serial numbers off of the motor. They acn be found on the plate by the transom clamp and on the silver round disc that looks like a freeze plug on the motor. Find them and post the numbers. Rick

What are you trying to replace? As if you stripped the threads on the block then it is a new block you will need. But if you got a heli coil or other insert in there and it works then you're good to go. I'd do a compression check to verify though.

Oh wait. I just reread the post. Did you strip the plug hole?
