Post 1964 Evinrude, Model#28402M, s/n #E02487 a hole above gearcase housing.

I want to insert Pictures from cell phone but, unable to do it yet.

By the way by comparing 1962 johnson motor to my, there is no hole on Johnson. My has 2 # 14 holes, 1 of # 24 which is for pivot assembly,

And 1 additional hole right above gearcase housing, it is strange compare to 1962 Johnson RX,RXL-10c.

please help, Thank you.

Probably just a drain hole, to let water drain when the motor is unused.
