Hey guys was wondering what the red lever on my primer solenoid is for?

I know if I turn it one way I can blow thru the feed tube and air comes out the two smaller tube that go to the carbs. If I turn the other way nothing flows thru.

So what is it for and when would I open and close it?

Thanks

it gives you the ability to prime the engine in the event that the battery goes dead. This is useful when rope starting the engine. Lever should point to solenoid body for normal operation.
