Recently got this motor. Runs fine but pops out of forward when running at above idle. If you hold the shift leaver down it will remain in gear but you can feel it trying to pop out. Any ideas on where to look for the cause?
The connector between the upper and lower sections of the shift rod may be improperly connected. The screw must be removed in order to properly engage the beveled section of the rod.
