I'm new to boating and buying my first boat.
I think I've narrowed it down between these 2. Both have features that I think I'd love.
I'll be using the boats on Lake St Clair and Hubbard lake. Both lakes are in Michigan.
I'm looking for a cruiser, something to take the family out on. Might do light fishing, tow a tube, maybe ski. But mostly just cruise around and hang out on.
Both boats have basically the same options. Aft cabin bed. Range, fridge, microwave. Enclosed head with transom shower. Swim platform. Bumpers, vests, bimini top, cockpit cover. and trailer.
Boat 1) 1997 Glastron 249. The owner is asking $14,000 for it. Before options, Nada average value is 9310. It has a 5.7 Mercruisier with 225 hours. NADA says it weighs 4375. I've been out on this boat for a test drive. It topped out around 39 MPH according to my GPS. This boat is located 30 minutes from my house.
Boat 2) 2001 Stingray. The owner is asking 15,000 for it. Before options, Nada average value is $13880. It has a 5.7 Mercruisier with under 300 hours. NADA says it weighs 5071. The boat has the same motor as #1 and weighs more, but the owner says it will do 49MPH??? This boat is located 4 hours from my house.
I don't mind the extra drive to get the boat that I want.
However to complicate things a tad bit, I need to get a survey done on the boat for my bank to give me a loan on either boat that I chose. Where would I find this? I tried googling this, but didn't come up with anything.
