hi , i have a 1984 19 ' bowrider , its a great boat , but want more storage room for life vests and other misc things. my question is: on a bowrider like this is it possible to cut a hole under the front seats without compromising the structural integrity of the hull . it has fold up seats in front already.

thanks

Re: 1984 galaxy

For the most part everything under the deck is structural and probebly filled with foam. You may find a way to cut the center of the deck out for a ski locker type setup but it's hard to know what's under there until you tear into it. Are the helm seats back to back or pedestal? If pedestal you could build some boxes to sit the seats on. Everyboat is configured different as well. Post some pics and somebody may come along with an idea.

I'm not familiar with your boat. But on my boat, there is a storage locker under each bow seat. So I guess it depends on the boat design. If someone here doesn't know off-hand, the only way will be to dig in and poke around.

You may want to ask the question in the boat restoration and building section of the forum. Maybe someone there has rebuilt your model of boat.
