I just bought a older boat with a 115hp evinrude when i got it the fuel pump needed rebuilt it would only start if you where priming it while cranking it over. I rebuilt the fuel pump and now it wont start. I got it to start with the fuel line unhooked but when i hooked it up after it started running it would die almost immediately. Any ideas what i could be the problem. I bought a new tank and fuel lines and primer bulb.
Thanks Brian

It sounds like this motor is new to you. You should start with the basics, compression, spark and fuel supply. Do you have a manual for this engine, helps a lot with trouble shooting.

The primer bulb would normally put enough fuel in the float bowls to run the engine for several minutes even if the fuel pump were not working at all.

A fuel pump does not push fuel into the engine, it just fills the float bowls.
