Since day one my trolling motor has had the pesky problem of the drive head rotating to dead astern when I take my foot off the pedal (enegrized or not).
I've checked for twist in the push/pull cable, repositioned the head in relation to the hull and tried in vain to find some form of tensioning device on this unit. My fishing partner has a similar unit and the drive head stays right where he puts it !!
I have about convienced myself that the problem is due to my mounting arrangement. I have a 14' StumpKnocker. The bow is enclosed but for the first 16" (where the unit is mounted), the forward swivel seat is mounted to the front bench seat thus the foot unit is on the deck, approximately a 24" difference in heights. Do y'll belive this is the culprit or does anyone have an idea about adjusting tension ??

TIA...Ed in 'ol Virginny
