hey, does anyone know about my 2003 prestige trailer? I just got the boat and trailer and i want to tow it with My 97 Tahoe. I just have the four wire flat connector and the trailer has the five. I know the fifth wire activates the release solenoid when backing. the trailer has a manual release on the toungue, my question is will the surge brakes still work otherwise, i.e. traveling down the road, without the fifth wire? thanks for any help

Re: Prestige Trailer Brakes

Yep, the surge brakes will work as they should when moving forward. The 5th wire (blue) is only for activating the lockout solenoid when backing up.

Heritage Trailers bought out Prestige Trailers due to the current economic downturn. Hopefully Heritage will have customer service that comes close to that of Prestige.
