I just noticed last weekend that water is coming out of my upper exhaust. Water is still streaming out of the tell-tale hole, but I've never noticed water coming out of the upper exhaust. This isn't a small amount of water. Its spitting it out at a pretty good rate. I noticed a little hesitation when i first got it up on a plane, but after 10 mins of running i didnt have any other problems with the hesitation. I still ran fine for about an hour, but i know water isn't supposed to be coming out of the upper exhaust. I'm new to outboard motors. Any ideas of the problem?

Yes it is normal behavior, water comes out both the telltale and those 2 little exhaust ports on back.

Thanks for the answer! So this is not just a dribble, its really spitting out of there. Its about a cup every few seconds or so. I guess i've just never noticed it before. But that much is normal?

The water should spurt out the midsection exhaust relief ports at idle and increase once it gets on plane to two steady streams.
