I have a 1991 30Hp Evinrude and just rebuilt the fuel pump. The motor will now not idle and appears to starve for fuel at high RPM. After it dies, I have to pull the primer to restart. I have checked the placement of parts three times against an exploded view of the pump and everything appears to be correct. Any suggestions?

the most common advice i see on here about fuel pumps it replace it dont rebuild it......... vro and non-vro alike

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure I have it assembled as in the diagram. Have taken it apart three times to be sure. I am ordering the new fuel pump and trying that next.
