I am usually a pretty good home spun mechanic. But electrical stuff completely stumps me. She was runing in nuetral and crapped out. Went to turn the key and there is no power at all to the ignition key. No power to the instument panel as well. According to the wire diagram, there is an assist solinoid, in addition to the starter solinoid. Can this assist solinoid be the problem? I checked all fuses, nuetral safety switch, and all checked out. I relplaced the key ignition. When I put 12vts to the Batt terminal on the key ignition, the instruments do work. I am afaid to turn the key as I burned up a battery once already trying this. (it was dumb to try, but It was a last ditch effort before calling Tow boat US.)
