I doing some work on a 1971 Mercury Thundrenolt 500, 50 hp 4 cylinder, s/n 3175998 and have some questions.
- Does anybody know where I can get a new distributor cap and rotor?
- How about the Gear Housing Cover Tool part # C-91-53126? It's for removing the spanner nut that holds the prop shaft in.
- Is there something special about the lower unit gear oil or can I just use 90 weight gear oil?
- The Seloc book I'm using says to fill the lower unit thru the bottom drain plug until it comes out the vent hole. Why can't I just fill it thru the vent hole?
