what prop for sail with old johnson 3hp weedless

I have lost 2 outboards this year to theft. A fellow has let me use a 3 hp old johnson and I would like to know what props are appropriate for this application.


I appreciate any advise offered.

it is a 60-70s 3 hp omc long shaft with the weedless lower unit. the boat is a bit big for it, but it works ok.

the boat is a 19' full keel 2700 lb bristol corinthian.

You will need a prop around 6 x 5 1/2p. Need the right year to identify correct prop.

As for theft, have you tried using a quality padlock between the transom screws to stop removal? A pit bull maybe?:eek:

By the way, The last motor (70s 6hp twin omc) was stolen with it cabled to the boat. The cable was cut. all that for a motor that doesn't run well. I was going to put coils in it the day I found it missing.
