Wanting to get the boat running today, is there a cross reference to the mercruiser coil so I can get one from the auto parts store?

merc or sierra.

Some have use the Accel successfully but it seems to be about 50/50.

Its a merc, Accel would be worth a shot. I just need a part number to tell the guys at the counter or which auto it would fit.

You need a NON internal resistor coil. The TB IV works on 12V directly from the batt.

The TB coil is said to have special windings, that's why not all HEI coils work correctly.
