I have a 50 hp force 50x5a 1985 the engine over heated and shut down. The overheat alarm never went off and there was not pinging, the the only thing was smoke comming from cow pannel. Let it coll down sound like no compression when trying to start. Got home pulled head found a dent in cylinder wall also pulled side off where exaust ports are and could see very bad scoring on cyn wall and pistons where the exaust ports are on cyn wall. Checked to see if water pump still in tact and it is and motor has no t-stat in it. So my question is what the hell happen and can the cylinder walls be re sleeved. I hate to by another motor when I can fix this one hope fully or just bite the bullet and get another motor? Any help would be great!!!!:)
