I have an 1988 Chaparral 1900SX with 5.0 Alpha One Mercruiser- when I start boat the engine initially squeals and than goes away unless Im going 40 plus than the squealing comes back- I have new belts- one was a bit loose- I tightened it- the noise is still happening. It does not seem to be effecting performance and the engine has been meticulously maintained- does anyone know what this noise could be and more importantly how I make it stop. I have not tried belt dressing because that seems like a band aid. thanks
