Connecting Lowrance GPS to Smartcraft Gauges

I've been trying to get this wired up for some time with no success. I need help!
I've tried wiring Yellow wire port 1 to White/Blue stripe to scand shield to Blue w/white stripe. NO luck

I've tried all above except using com port 2 Blue.

I also tried wiring to orange wire even if receive wire.

I then tried shield, Blue with white stripe to a ground under dash.

I think I have all proper entries on sc gauges.
I need help!

Connecting Lowrance GPS to Smartcraft Gauges

I have been wrestling with this for some time and I know there is some small something I am missing. Its to 28chd to 08 smartcraft gauges 08.
So far I've tried onnect the sc (+) or white with blue stripe to com 1 or yellow.
Then I tried the orange as noted on another page. No luck.
Then I tried and have it connected to com 2 or the blue wire.

The sc (-) or blue with white stripe I had connected just to the shield wire. NO luck.
Then I connected also into a ground under dash no luck

Then I ran a ground back to battery no luck.

Baud rate I am using 4800

I also have GL:L and GGA checked. I have also tried with GSA&GSV both checked and not checked.
Iam at my witts end! I need help!

I hope this works because I need the help! I am thinking maybe ground I have a good ground but not sure of common ground? Also maybe a download or update on Lowrance units maybe?

Do you have links to the manuals of each? I 'll take a crack at it for you.

Just be aware that usually, all shields get tied together and get tied to ground.

What model of GPS are you using, and I assume you are sure it is sending NMEA 0183, not NMEA 2000 right?
