Excessive Smoke

What would cause what most of us would call Excessive Smoke come out of any 2 stroke OB besides too much oil in the gas

mine had alot of smoke when the carbs needed rebuilt.
after i had a whole lot less....

cold starts

and when a engine starts up for a long long time all the old carbon i believe

Thinking i do need to upgrade my oil-
I have a 1977 175hp Johnson, are the carbs adjustable?
My last was a 70hp & they were not adjustable

Too much beer, whenever I drink a lot I smoke more too, so it stands to reason......

Fouled plugs....or plugs that are too cold.
