Johnson 35 outboard stalls at higher rpm's?

hello, I'm new to the forums and was hoping I could get some help on this problem I've been having with my 1992 Johnson 35 HP outboard. It runs well at lower RPM's, but when you hit 3000-4,000 RPM's it just dies after going at that speed for about a minute. It starts right back up after so that makes me think its not an electronic problem. I am thinking possibly fuel pump (It actually has 2 fuel pumps). Which kind of makes sense because it can handle low RPM's but when its really working it can't handle it. But before I spend the $200 for them, I was wondering if anyone agrees/disagrees?
I checked the fuel and there's no water in the tank. Gas is 3 days old. I drained the 3 carbs. Also I made sure it was a solid connection from the fuel tank to the motor. The primer bulb was hard too.
The only other thing I was pondering is possibly misfiring? The plugs looked to be in great shape though.

Any Ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What is your model number and how many carbs do you have?

You could check that the vent on the tank is clean and open. Also some fuel lines that go into the tank, have a screen that gets trashed up sometimes. Hope this helps.

haha yes it really is. And I called the parts place and they told me the 2 fuel pumps were different from each other which I can't possibly understand why on earth they would do that. They could have made a mistake but they sounded confident.
It also has 2 filters!

And Cofe, thanks for the suggestion. The vent on the tank checks out. No water in the fuel and tanks properly vented. Thank you though!

what is your model #? it sounds like clogged high speed jets. or link n sinc. but model # would help.
