I have a Mariner shop manual for outboards from 2-220 hp.1976 to 1989. I need to change the water pump but the book only shows 20 and 25 hp. Are they the same as a 30hp. water pump change? I also recently took my boat out and I had water coming out my tell tale so I began to take off and got about 100 yards from the dock and it stoped coming out and I started losing power and the motor started to steam and lose power so I shut it down and trolled back. After getting it on the trailer I went to lift the motor and the hood was very hot. after cooling down i pulled it and it still had good compression and started right back up, so I shut it down once again. Can someone please tell me if changing the water pump would be worth it or is it ruined? Thanks
