Hello again great forum. I have an 84 Bayliner Explorer. I have the engine out. The stern drive is not in the down position. I need to lower it so I can get to a bearing for replacement. I do not have power hooked up, alhough I have good batteries but nothing seems to work.

I am told there may be a way to lower the drive manually (something about a block of wood). Also could I run power to something at the back of the boat (the hydraulics) and then be able to lower the drive? Any help would be great...Thanks

Unbolt the trim rams from the outdrive, it'll fall right down.

Forget what I said, that drive doesn't have them.

Push down on the drive. In extream cases you may have to stand on it, It's a mechanical clutch and should slip with the pressure.
