I got my new rig going and have got the gears shifting correctly, i
have neutral, forward , and reverse. when i put it in reverse i cant give it
any gas. It works fine in foward. I have a binnacle top mount control i think its
an older brp i got off ebay. Do i have it hooked up in the wrong spot or something. Also when i go in reverse my motor kicks up the hinge want lock on the bottom how do i get it to latch. thanks any help will do me great

To the second part, there is a lever on the port (left) side of the motor that locks it to the cross bar. flip that down.
